What are "Personal Devotionals"?
Personal Devotionals are time set aside by an individual to better develop
their relationship with God. Often called "Quiet Time" such devotionals are
typically characterized by prayer, Bible reading and contemplation.
The purpose of this guide is to help those who do not practice such
devotionals learn how. Advanced material is included to help those who
already practice such devotionals learn ways to make them more effective.
This text guide accompanies a 300+ PowerPoint (R) slide series. This
material includes discussion questions, scripture quotes, other quotes,
poems and illustration stories. The PowerPoint (R) slide show includes major
points and graphics. This 35+ page printable devotional guide generally
follows the slide show. I suggest that you print out the devotional guide
and review the slides before class. In some cases, the slides include
information not found specifically in this text guide. In such cases, the
slides are usually self explanatory. In many cases you will find a variety
of illustrations that you can use in class that you get from the devotional
guide that are not in the slides that you can use as commentary.
