Golgotha Hill

The hill described as Golgotha the place of crucifixion. Golgotha means "skull" and many think they can see the image of a skull in the shape of this hill. Although it fits the description of the text, this is not the traditionally recognized site of the crucifixion.

A Color photo of a New Testament style tomb like the one Jesus was buried in. Arguments abound over whether or not this is the tomb of Jesus. Gates Of Hell (#2)

This is a closeup of the site of a large cave opening in a large rock face. The gentiles considered this the opening to the place of the dead or the "gates of hell". It was in a large solid rock face. When Jesus called Peter a "stone" and that the "gates of hell" couldn't stand against his confession, then Jesus was making contrasts of a stone versus a large rock and how even the power of death couldn't stand against the confession that Jesus was the son of God. To the right is the shrine or temple of the mythological god "Pan". Scripture: Matt 16:18
